DR. BONNIE HENRY author of Soap and Water and Common Sense The Definitive Guide to Viruses, Bacteria, Parasites and Disease. Dr. Henry is a leading epidemiologist (or virus-hunter, as they are often called) and public health doctor. Dr. Henry worked with WHO during the Ebola outbreak in Uganda. She was the Associate Medical Officer of Health for the City of Toronto during the SARS outbreak in 2003, and has been one of the Public Health officers on the H1N1 influenza outbreak in BC, where she currently resides.
Dr. Henry invented a very successful global corporation called “Microbes Inc.” to explain these illnesses and how they have evolved and adapted over billions of years to rule the earth. From viruses to bacteria to parasites and fungi, Dr. Henry dispels some of the all-too-common myths and misinformation about “good bugs” and “bad bugs”. She provides up-to-date and accurate information on everything from the bugs we breathe to the bugs we eat and drink to the bugs in our backyard and beyond. Dr. Henry is currently leading the emergency preparedness measures for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, helping figure out how the provincial healthcare facilities would deal with any sort of outbreak or bioterrorism during the Olympics.
