Arline Bronzaft

Arline L. Bronzaft, Ph.D. is a Professor Emerita of Lehman College, City University of New York and an expert on the impacts of noise on health. She serves on GrowNYC, chairing its noise committee, and was named to this voluntary position by four New York City mayors. She is often called by New Yorkers to help resolve their noise problems. Dr. Bronzaft conducts research, lectures and advises citizens on the harmful effects of noise on mental and physical well-being. Dr. Bronzaft has contributed chapters on noise to eight books, including her latest, Why Noise Matters (2011), has articles on noise in four encyclopedias, as well as writings on noise in academic journals and the more popular press. In 2007 she assisted the New York City Department of Environmental Protection in the updating of their Noise Code. She has been interviewed by the media internationally including the United States and Canada.
